Resisting Arrest and Assault of a Public Safety Officer – Acquittal at Trial
Client JP went to trial on 3 charges. The defense went to trial despite having no corroborating witnesses to call nor physical evidence to aid in their defense. Through effective cross-examination of police officers, the defense was able to show the jury that the police were overly aggressive in their contact with client. One count was dismissed by the judge and the other two counts were submitted to the jury. They came back with not guilty on both and client was ultimately acquitted of all charges.
